The good: perhaps the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. I mean like WOW. It was so clean I decided to draw a bath. I NEVER do that in a hotel. Service was friendly and accomodating. The room was also clean and well-appointed, but too much furniture made it feel smaller than it was. The bad: who thought this would be a great place to build a hotel. Yes, yes, NY real estate is at a premium, but my god, the neighborhood is run-down dirty industrial. A hotel in NY from which you cannot walk to a restaurant, a drugstore, a bodega, or anything. It exists in complete isolation from civilization. The ugly: I had an unusual evening in which i had to come and go from the hotel with some frequency. I left around 11 pm and returned around 11:45 pm. Upon my return there was a rather dour woman loitering in the lobby conversing with the desk clerk. Not a problem, but her grumbling hung in the air. As soon as i got to my room I realized I left my phone in the car and headed back out to get it. As i passed by i heard her chortle something about my tank top. Very derisive. As I came back in again and headed for the elevator she called out, "love your shirt," "very fashionable," "looks good on you, very manly." And her tone of voice made it clear she meant none of those compliments.

Passing thru NYC and we had not been to Coney Island before. The location is close to most things in Coney Island and it was easy to get to, but the surroundings are a bit strange/industrial. The staff were friendly and the comfort and cleanliness was nice. I would stay here again, only knock maybe be parking it was on the street and a small side lot - we came in late and were fortunate to get a spot right in front of the building. I would imagine if this was peak travel season the parking could get dicey. But it’s NYC who needs a car anyway?
